SkyHigh Memory is shaping Flash Memory for Smart Devices, Automotive and Industrial Applications

Flash Memory turned 40 and we take this occasion to highlight some of the vendors in our linecard that offer flash memory.

SkyHigh Memory Ltd. is a joint venture established on April 1, 2019 between SK hynix and Infineon: two key players in Flash Memory industry. Combining the technological expertise and innovation of its parent companies, SkyHigh Memory delivers high-performance non-volatile Flash Memory solutions for industries including automotive, communications, digital consumer markets, industrial applications, and medical devices.

The company’s roots lie in the legacy of SK hynix, which began its journey in NAND Flash Memory development in 2003, achieving a strong global presence as a leader NAND Flash Memory provider.

Since its inception in 2019, SkyHigh Memory has made significant progress, starting with 16nm SLC products and rapidly expanding its portfolio. By 2021, it introduced advanced memory solutions such as eMMC (2GB/4GB), SPI SLC NAND (1Gb-2Gb-4Gb), and LPDDR4-based MCP (8Gb Lpddr4x + 8Gb ONFI NAND) based on the most advanced 2D-NAND Flash technology node. In 2022, it introduced mid-range size eMMC (8/16GB) products for Industrial and consumer applications, followed by eMMC (8GB) product for automotive applications. In 2024, SkyHigh focused on developing high-capacity managed NAND memory solutions, including 32/64GB eMMC and automotive-based 8+16/16+16 SLC NAND-based MCP, Discrete LPDDR4X, to address next-generation applications needs. These milestones reflect the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation, reliability, and leadership in the Flash Memory industry.
